Hello everyone,
I hope you’re staying well and warm here at the start of the year. January has been cold, snowy, and wet in Michigan. Today it’s raining/sleeting. All the critters that make it through this wintery weather amaze me. Yesterday, a flock of robins landed on the chokecherry outside my window; I was glad to see them feasting away. Rosie has pointed out the family of rabbits and skunks that sneak around. We found what looked like their den under feet of snow in the thickets.
The new landscape has inspired me. Most days haven’t been as gray as I feared. And even if they are, the silhouettes of bare trees against the sky are stunning. And then the sun comes out and it’s marvelous. (I hope to keep this optimism going cause I know it’s only the beginning of winter!)
Anyway, here are some recently finished paintings in the shop. The fall landscapes started en plein air last year, and I recently finished them up in the cozy, cozy apartment. :)
p.s. available paintings have a link to the shop
The following two still-life paintings were a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to doing more of them on cold days.
And finally, my Rosie with her head in the snow. It’s been so fun seeing her experience snow. This is the hill we walk to almost daily, where she gets a little runaround and sniff time. She loves it.
That’s all for now! Thanks for following along and supporting my work. Have a great week!
xo,
Sara
I love the textures in your paintings, and the way those textures really create a 3D look in the landscapes. The colours pop and are very eye catching!
I love my painting ❤️ also, Rosie's Hill!! 🥰
