It’s the end of August already and I thought I’d share what I’ve been up to. I’m really into the work I’m doing right now, so I hope you like it, too! Check out this blog post for all the deets!
Other things I’ve been into lately:
Lemon+parmesan+pasta. It’s our semi-weekly comfort food. This is my go-to recipe, but instead of a tablespoon of lemon juice, I use about 1/4 cup! Add roasted chicken, kale, or shishitos on top and it’s heaven in a bowl!
Coach Bennett’s podcast. I’ve been enjoying listening to Coach Bennett on my longer runs. He talks a lot about running but also not about running. It’s a motivation boost and reminds me to enjoy being outside and not overthink it.
Emma Carlisle’s Patreon sessions. Holy cow, when I’m in a slump and know drawing will make me feel 100% better, I turn to Emma’s channel. She provides the images to draw from, then you show up and chat with folks worldwide who are also participating (if you attend live), and at the end you can share your drawings! I enjoy her timed sketches and the conversation. It’s been really fun- I highly recommend subscribing if you want some drawing inspiration.
Why We Swim by Bonnie Tsui. I’ve gotten into swimming laps recently so my mom picked up this book for me, and I really enjoyed it. It was interesting to learn about different cultures and their relationship to water and it was inspiring to read about athletes pushing their limits. Nice read for summer swim time!
